BIO
Born and raised in the muddy seaside town of Weston-super-Mare, Seb Longhorn channels his small-town sensibilities into music that reaches to the core of everyone. With lyrics of love, loneliness, family, community; the singer-songwriter brings you along the peaks and troughs of his introspection, but always with a light touch. Combined with his folk-rock backing band ‘the Waxwings’, their thumping rhythms and rich layers of guitars and keys enliven and energize his words, creating a room-moving tapestry of sound.
Longhorn’s highlights include support slots with Gary Stringer (Reef), Mark Morriss (The Bluetones), and The Hoosiers, as well as festival slots at Watchet, Minety and Glastonbury. In his home city of Bristol he’s played at iconic venues such as Thekla and The Exchange, all the while entertaining crowds at regular independent markets across South-West England, steadily building a following from stage to street and back again.
His releases include ‘Dreams’, an easy-going acoustic-pop song about moving on from heartbreak; ‘The Half a Song Blues’, a foot-stomping anthem for writer’s block; and his latest single ‘Spot In A Blue Sky’, a pessimistic full-band banger. It was released alongside a music video filmed at Weston’s Blakehay Theatre.
Inspired by the early recordings of songwriters like Paul Simon and Cat Stevens, he’s also released a bare-bones acoustic EP “The Living Room Sessions”, a collection of seven live solo recordings. ‘Where The River Flows’ is a homesick ode to his small town roots, while ‘What’s Life Without Colour?’ celebrates his partner and her oil pastels.
As of July 2026, ‘Seb Longhorn & the Waxwings’ just played their biggest show to date at O2 Academy Bristol, performing in the Underdog Grand Final to a crowd 700 strong.
